Below we share the story of how he went above and beyond for his patient at Methodist Dallas Medical Center.
Impacting Communities, One Patient at a Time: A Mother’s Hope
Our Outstanding Patient Advocate Jesus Hernandez helped restore a mother’s hope for her daughter and their future.
A scared mother and her abused 14-year-old daughter were not sure where to turn for help.
In the hospital ED, our advocate Jesus provided compassion and assistance, establishing trust through true empathy. Thanks to his caring on-site interaction with the mother and daughter, he was able to gather the information necessary to enroll them in a health plan and obtain medical coverage.
The young patient was treated, and ongoing health coverage was secured for her future medical care.
However, Jesus did not stop there. He also made sure to register them in both housing and food assistance programs to help meet their additional needs beyond those met in the Emergency Department.
A mother’s hope for care and direction was restored through the combined efforts of the hospital and our Outstanding Patient Advocate, Jesus Hernandez.
