At EligibilityOne, our Eligibility Advocates are committed to going the extra mile for every person they assist. Patient Advocacy is their passion, and we believe it is important to acknowledge their exceptional efforts at making a difference in the lives of the patients they help and support.
Below we share the story of how two of our Eligibility Advocates went above and beyond for their patient at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
Impacting Communities, One Patient at a Time: Beyond Health Coverage
Two of our Outstanding Patient Advocates helped their patient improve his quality of life by obtaining health coverage and a host of other benefits as well.
A disabled patient was facing mounting medical bills while relying on an SSI check of $735.00 per month as his sole source of income to cover all living expenses.
Our Eligibility Advocates Advocates worked together on behalf of this patient to help him apply for not only health coverage, but a host of other benefits as well. These included MO Medicaid, LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program), Missouri Food Stamps, and ABD (Aged, Blind, Disabled), SLMB (Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary), QMB (Qualified Medicare Beneficiary), and Part D wrap-around Medicaid programs – all to the ultimate benefit of the patient.
Thanks to these advocates’ extensive knowledge of Medicaid and Missouri assistance programs, the patient is now enrolled in every benefit available to him. Both our Eligibility Advocates were committed to aiding the patient in any way possible, via phone, mail, and in-person, to help him improve his quality of life.
Thank you both for the impact you have made on this patient – above and beyond finding him health coverage.
You are truly Outstanding Eligibility Advocates!
